Broadband value in the USA

Between 2010 and 2014 the average price of broadband in the United States dropped a whopping $3.06 per Mbps. As an example: Today, a 25 Mbps broadband connection costs $76.50 on average. In 2010, the same connection would have cost $166.75. The graphic below represents the percent price drop of broadband per Mbps over that 5 year period.

Broadband speeds in the USA

Between 2010 and 2014 the average download speed in the US has almost tripled, rising from 9.84 Mbps to 27.13 Mbps. The US is also one of the most drastically improved nations when it comes to download speed with an average increase of 159% over the past 5 years. The graphic below represents the percent increase of average broadband speeds by state over that 5 year period.
